Sponsorship Letter for Businesses

Sponsorship sought for The Glasgow Lions Touch Rugby Team.

The Glasgow Lions are an established and rapidly expanding, inclusive sports club which seeks to continue to develop players within the Glasgow Touch Rugby community. We are run entirely by volunteers and to ensure that there are no barriers to participation for anyone; we seeking to raise funds to ensure continued growth and success.

Development

Every January, the club host a six week academy to introduce new players to the sport and we host free training sessions every week, catering for all levels and abilities. Our training aims to develop players skills through playing in local leagues, regional, national and international tournaments. We support players to attend tournaments across Scotland, UK and Europe and a 12 week Glasgow Summer League. Key areas in which we wish to progress include the establishment of a youth section (to be piloted this summer in Glasgow secondary schools) and the development of coaches to deliver quality training.

How can you help?

As a community-based club run by volunteers we rely on fund-raising and sponsorship to meet the financial demands of our activities. With the growth of the Glasgow Lions there has been a significant increase in our expenditure. We hope to use any 2014 funding to increase our membership and offer a wider range of volunteer opportunities. Costs associated with running the club include playing shirts, training kit, facilities for training and tournaments, travel costs, insurance, tournament entrance fees, coaching and refereeing courses and advertising. Funding through the Big Lottery has allowed us to subsidise beginner players’ entry fees and travel to tournaments, playing strips and kit. However this still leaves a significant shortfall in the amount required to run the club. Your sponsorship contribution will make a significant difference to the club.

In return, there are a number of avenues through which we hope to ensure that our relationship with our sponsors is mutually beneficial. We are also open to any suggestions or requests which may make sponsorship more appealing to potential partners.

If you would like to discuss potential sponsorship or have any other enquiries then please do not hesitate to contact us on the details above. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
