Glasgow Lions wishes to announce that Victor Francisco Suarez has decided to step down from his position as the Club’s Head Coach from the 31 August 2014 after 7 years in the role. No doubt this has been a very difficult decision for Victor and the club would like to acknowledge this.

The Club Committee, Coaching Staff and Players would like to express our appreciation and gratitude for his dedication to the Club. Victor has made a significant contribution both on and off the field in helping to build the Lions to the successful club it is today and also not forgetting his overall contribution to Touch Rugby. His commitment and passion for the game has been instrumental in the development of the club and its players over the years and has left a solid foundation for the future. We want to thank him for his years of service, not only as Head Coach, but also in his previous roles as Club Chairperson, Secretary, committee member and player.

Victor will remain as a senior player for the Club, as well as continuing in his role with Youth Coaching and running the Women’s Academy in the autumn of this year. We look forward to supporting Victor in these roles and to his continued involvement with the Club.

As the Club looks forward, we will soon begin actively searching for a new Head Coach who will go on to help grow and promote the Club, ensuring the success of Glasgow Lions continues.

Many thanks again to Victor for his valued contribution as Club Head Coach.
