The Lions 2012 Touch season got off to a great start on Saturday with the first day of the Beginners Academy.  A couple of photos can be viewed in the gallery.  Some 25 new players were welcomed into the Lions den and given a  basic introduction to the game with ball handling drills and basic attacking manoeuvres.  It was great to see people of various abilities getting involved, despite the changeable weather conditions which included 'heed-denting hail'.  The Beginners Academy continues to run on Saturdays from 12pm - 2pm at the East End Healthy Living Centre,  183 Crownpoint Rd (near Glasgow Green).   See dates below.  It offers a free taster of Touch to absolute beginners and those with limited experience. Focussing on the basic skills required, the Academy aims to give a flying start to those new to the game.  However, players with experience of the game are also welcome.
